General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018, updating the previous rules under the Data Protection Act 1998. The new rules strengthen the protection of personal information and extend the rights that we all have over who holds our information and how it is used.
As part of our work to comply with the GDPR, we are also re-seeking consent for using additional photographs or videos of your child on our website, internal displays of other materials and social media. Photographic consent form is attached, and would appreciate it if you filled this out and returned it to the school office by Monday 14th May, 2018. When doing this please bear in mind that, like most schools, we rely on social media and digital forms of communication to keep parents and carers informed. We always use images responsibly in our publications and online.
We will also send out data sheets over the next few weeks for you to amend via the new SIMs Parent Lite, details of how to log on to this and a password will be included.
If you have any questions about how the GDPR affects you, or how our school is preparing, you can contact Mr M Walker, School Business Manager.
