Igniting Creativity with Tools - Improving Computer literacy with Training
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is a successful, exciting and innovative subject. The ICT curriculum prepares pupils to use a wide variety of software to access, manipulate and present information. The aim is to promote creativity, initiative and independent learning using the tools of an increasingly technological society.
We offer a curriculum that is varied and that mixes software used in a business environment with creative software used in the iMedia industry. This helps students to use tools to support learning in other curriculum areas and prepares them for further education and careers.
Key Stage 3 ICT Curriculum
Pupils study ICT for two lessons a week. They make rapid progress, gaining skills in software such as MS Office, Adobe Creative suite, Flowol, Moviemaker and Audacity. Click on the down load to see an outline of the topics and the software used for each year group.
Key Stage 4 ICT Curriculum
Pupils who opt for ICT have four lessons a week and can choose to study either Creative iMedia or ICT. Our pass rate is outstanding, with 100% of pupils gaining an A*-C Grade for the past three years. Click on the download to see an outline of the units for each course and the software used.
