Trying to pick his highlights at St Ambrose Barlow what comes to mind for Jacob is all the opportunities and experiences that being part of the school has opened up for him.
“I’ve had the chance to go on loads of different trips like the ski trip and New York trip and have taken part in loads of different and interesting projects. I really loved one research project on Graffiti where we looked at whether it is art or vandalism. We went on a tour of Salford Quays and the Northern Quarter in Manchester looking at tagging and graffiti and we worked with street artists from Spearfish to produce our own piece of graffiti.”
Another opportunity that stands out to Jacob is the I Am Creative project which will see him travelling down to London to present his ideas. “As part of a team we had to work to a brief to come up with a campaign for a private bank Coutts. We had to promote the bank to young entrepreneurs by researching the bank and the target audience and coming up with ideas which we had to make and present. Our team got shortlisted and we now get to go to London to present our ideas at Coutts HQ in London which is really exciting! Doing things like this and having to stand up in front of people and present has made me so much confident.”
“I initially thought I wanted to be in the RAF but through Creative Media and meeting and working with people already doing this kind of job that I realised that maybe I’d like to work in this industry in the future instead.”
This is my Ambrose… a place full of opportunities and experiences.
