Dear Parent, Carer or Friend of St. Ambrose Barlow, I am sure that, like our staff, you have been deeply affected by the terrible events in Manchester city centre. As a school community we are fortunate that although some pupils and staff were present at the concert, all are alive and well. Our staff have provided as much support as possible to young people who are upset by recent events and we will continue to do so over the coming days. On Tuesday we said prayers as a staff and in each form group in memory of those killed and injured and as a gesture of solidarity with all affected by the attack.

Business Networking at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce

Business Studies students at St Ambrose Barlow Sixth Form had the chance to visit the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce to attend the third Quarterly Economic Breakfast – the first one since Brexit.

The students were greeted by members of the GMCC, including Baroness Beverley Hughes, ex MP for Urmston and Trafford. They enjoyed a breakfast before heading to the economic review, lead primarily by Christian Spence, followed by a representative from Duff and Phelps, one of the Chamber of Commerce’s patrons, and finally Alex Davies spoke on ‘Brexit and the future of International Trade’.

Following the review students attended the Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), revolving around the impact of Brexit and what happens next, followed by a chance to network.
