Professional Development

St Ambrose Barlow delivers a range of excellent professional development opportunities for staff at all experience levels. Courses we offer facilitate increased ability and confidence so that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to continue to improve the performance of themselves and colleagues. St John Plessington is one of only four providers ('licencees') in the North West for delivering the National Professional Qualifications for Middle Leaders, Senior Leaders and Head Teachers. The content of these courses is of considerably high quality and at the heart of each of them is a clear focus on improving the outcomes for children. The quality of leadership and the quality of teaching are the two pillars upon which it all stands. The courses reflect the expectations set out in The Schools White Paper and the new 2012 Ofsted Framework. St John Plessington have ensured that the deliverers of these courses are experienced and credible school leaders from the best schools in the region. Additionally, St John Plessington have secured the services of serving Ofsted Inspectors whose experiences and insights will be invaluable.

The Middle and Senior Leaders courses are due to begin in September 2013 and will last 12 months; these qualifications are accredited by the National College and the University of Chester.

Courses will take place at St Ambrose Barlow RC High School in Swinton, however, for further details, please visit website at www.leadingschoolsalliance.org. The registration form is very straightforward. If you wish to ask any further questions or would like someone to visit your school to discuss further, then please contact the Co-ordinator, Jonathan Jones on 0151 645 5049 Ext 132 or email info@leadingschoolsalliance.org
