 Key Stage 3

Pupils in years 7 and 8 follow a KS3 mastery curriculum designed to build confidence in mathematics and prepare pupils for the 9-1 GCSE. They will develop and extend skills learned at KS2 through a mix of mental and oral work, interactive teaching, problem solving and reasoning. Pupils are encouraged to explain their work and methods used. Elements of algebra, ratio and proportion, probability and statistics will be covered and linked together to allow pupils to see the bigger mathematical picture.

Maths - Recovery Curriculum

Under normal circumstances The GCSE Maths curriculum would be completed as detailed in the Key Stage 4 Curriculum Maps. Due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic a modified curriculum is being delivered which specifies what students learn in school and remotely. The department examined the Scheme of work and decided which elements of the course were essential and would still give the students the required knowledge and skills to successfully complete the course. The recovery curriculum maps are available below.
