Intent Statement

Computer Science teaches us how to think in a more logical way and become better at making decisions and solving problems. We learn about how the different parts of a computer work together and why they work like that. We learn how computers communicate via networks. We investigate how important technology is in today’s society and its impact socially and environmentally. We also develop highly desirable and marketable programming skills

ICT helps us develop the skills to use software to create solutions to different problems. We learn about how different types of software work and the solutions they can provide. We investigate how important technology is in today’s society and the impact and issues that can arise from using computer systems.

Creative Media Production equips learners with marketable creative skills and provides opportunities to develop desirable, transferable skills such as research, planning, working with others and communicating creative concepts effectively.

The Business Studies curriculum contextualises learning through the use of real life situations and problem solving scenarios. Our students develop personal qualities such as the ability to work effectively in teams and equip students for their future careers by covering a range of theories and practical elements. It looks at how Businesses run and evolve, what skills it takes to become an entrepreneur along with looking into the marketing theories of business and how to understand finance. It can lead into many different career sectors and mixes with all subjects well. Ultimately in their careers students will work for or own a business. Many pupils also go on to study Business Studies at Key Stage 5 and University.
